Diamond Gates - Movement

Athletes are to move through a diamond-shaped course of gates within a 1-minute time limit, scoring a point for each gate completed.

Athletes start in a square of cones in the centre of the diamond.

Each gate can be spaced according to coach requirements with a recommendation of 15m x 15m or 20m x 20m.

Depending on the task or game, athletes must try to enter (touch their foot) through as many gates as possible within 1 minute.

The athlete cannot return to the same gate twice in a row.

“Numbers” variations involve four or six athletes in the diamond at once instead of two, adding traffic and engagement, and “Dribbling” variations require the athlete to control a ball while moving through the gates.
