Currently operating as the founder of Just A Game, alongside consultancy and contracting with a range of Sports and Physical Activity organisations, he has a desire to positively impact communities and organisations emphasising modern best practice theory, design and implementation.
Previously the New Zealand Cricket Strengthen and Adapt Lead, Simon was a creative force in bringing Constraints led approaches and Game based learning to life - the Smash Play philosophy.
A foremost proponent of effective environment and game design, Simon is also able to utilise his contacts with international leading expertise to support Just A Game approaches and staff.
With significant insights into the incorporation of social models to positively impact participants, Simon’s expertise is designed to enhance skill adaptability and acquisition, but also participant experience, connectedness and more.

Patrick is a coach specialising in individual and small-group athlete performance across football and cricket, with a strong focus on high-performance behaviours, decision-making, and skill execution under pressure.
Possessing a wide range of coaching experiences across youth and senior environments, including significant work within female athlete development pathways.
Patrick provides an emphasis on adaptability through designing training environments that closely reflect the demands of competition.
Alongside team roles, Patrick can deliver bespoke 1-on-1 coaching for athletes seeking targeted development beyond standard team training. These sessions are built around individual performance needs, utilising constraints led approaches to ensure movement, perception and response are aligned to game requirements.

Regan is a coach with over 10 years experience developing athletes across both hockey and cricket, He has significant experience supporting athletes to build the technical skill, tactical understanding, and competitive mindset required to succeed at higher levels.
Having had the privilege of working with many talented athletes who have progressed through representative pathways, earning opportunities in future Black Sticks camp environments and Central Districts age-group programmes, Regan has also coached within senior team environments, This has involved helping to build high-performing team cultures and standards.
Regans’ coach approach is athlete-centred and grounded in modern skill development, regularly using constraint-based game design to enhance decision-making, creativity, and execution under pressure.
Across both sports, his focus is on preparing players for the demands of high-level performance while fostering long-term growth and excellence.
