The Expertise Behind It

Built on Evidence. Designed with Purpose. Measured for All.

The Athlete Adaptability Programme is not a product that was put together quickly. It is the result of deep expertise in sport science, ecological dynamics and real-world athlete development — built by people who have done this at the highest levels.

Constraints-Led  ·  Ecologically Grounded  ·  Practitioner-First

The People Behind the Programme

The AAP was designed by practitioners and academics who have worked at the highest levels of sport development — and who bring that experience into every session, resource and tool.

Programme Designer

Simon Roseingrave

Former National Plan Lead — New Zealand Cricket

Simon designed the AAP from the ground up, drawing on his experience as a former Development Plan Junior and Youth Lead at the national level. As lead in this space for New Zealand Cricket he was responsible for building the philosophy and frameworks for constraints-led, game-based, player development. The AAP applies that same systems thinking to every sport, at every level.

Academic Foundation

Dr Ian Renshaw

Former Associate Professor of Skill Acquisition — Queensland University of Technology

The programme's theoretical foundation is built on the work of Dr Ian Renshaw — one of the world's leading academics in ecological dynamics and constraints-led coaching. His research underpins how JAG designs learning environments, structures measurement, and understands athlete development. It is not a nod to theory; it is theory applied to practice.

Research Grounding

The Constraints Collective

The programme is grounded in Dr Renshaw's foundation of, and involvement in, the work of the Constraints Collective — a network of researchers, practitioners and sport scientists whose combined expertise spans more than 100 professional sporting organisations worldwide. This is not a trend or a marketing framework. It is a body of evidence that JAG applies with rigour and intention in every aspect of the programme.

A Complete Resource System

The expertise behind the programme is packaged into resources that make delivery practical, consistent and effective — for practitioners at every level of experience.

9 Core Measurement Games

Carefully designed games that assess adaptability across the 4 CLA movement families — capturing perception, decision-making and movement quality together. Every game has a clear level framework so athlete progress is visible from day one.

Level 1 · 2 · 3 Progression

20+ Programme Cards

Practitioner resources linked directly to Measurement Game results — so that when an athlete scores at a particular level, the practitioner knows exactly what to do next. Built in plain language with S&C alignment included.

Linked to Measurement Results

JAG Athlete Portal

A digital home for every athlete, practitioner and organisation. Tracks XP, levels, movement family profiles and session history. Real-time data for practitioners. Personal journey for athletes. Reporting for organisations.

Three Experiences. One Platform.

Practitioner Training & Support

Self-delivering partners receive training and ongoing support before and during programme delivery. JAG-delivered partners have programme experts on the ground. Either way, no practitioner is left to figure it out alone.

Self-Delivered or JAG-Delivered

Measurement Windows & Reporting

Schedule assessment rounds, track group progress over time and generate reporting that's ready to share with boards, funders and parents. Evidence of athlete development at every level of the organisation.

Exportable. Stakeholder-Ready.

Continuing Resource Build

The resource library grows over time — sport-specific resources, extended programme cards and updated materials. Partners benefit from every addition as the programme develops.
